VILLAGE READ-WRITE PROGRAM

THE NEED

New education ruling in the Philippines requires children in public schools to complete kindergarten before admission to Grade One. While the public system does have kindergartens, parents still need to bear the cost of registration fees, books, uniforms, shoes, snacks, and monthly activities. This can amount to approximately SGD150 per year per child. To the poor and needy, this is still a large sum of money that they can hardly afford.

Read-Write Program

In 2013, we launched the Read-Write Program to provide the poorest of the poor in remote areas, access to free kindergarten education. This program is strongly aligned with the local village church and pastor for spiritual development and transformation. We now have over 150 children registered in the program across 4 villages with many salvations.
