IJM SURVIVOR’S PRAYER GATHERING
International Justice Mission Philippines organized a Survivor’s Prayer Gathering last November 12, 2019 in Mandaluyong City. Nongovernment and government organizations, shelter-based ministries, and law enforcers attended the event devoted to gathering prayer supports for the victim-survivors of OSEC. Chang, one of the residents of FHFP, was given the opportunity to give her closing message during the event. She expressed gratitude towards the workers in the field and aimed to inspire other victim-survivors to keep on with their journey. See her message below:
“Thank you for the opportunity that you have given me. I am here in front to recognise and encourage all of you. I am one of the OSEC survivors. I am very thankful for what is happening to me right now. Why? Because back in the time that no one saw me asking for what I need, you stretched your arms to mine. I was so confused with myself and I didn’t have any idea or direction in my life. I was just drowning in the world of darkness. I didn’t even know what the purpose of my life was. But our Lord Jesus Christ used an instrument to save me from my drowning and that was when the darkness turned to light. You people who rescued me, us, are the servants of goodness, servants of the Light…servants of our Almighty Father. You did not just rescue our physical bodies, but our souls and spirits. Indeed, God really does marvellous things!
The girl you see in front of you right now is the one you saved in the middle of trouble. I am in deep gratitude to all of you because you lighted my way and showed the right directions to motivate me. A lot of great things happened in my life because the Lord says in Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”. Because of you I had a chance to be an active church member, a hard-working student, and accomplished a lot of things beyond my expectations. Our Father really does great things and I believe you can see it through me right now. The one you saved is now motivated to become one of you someday. I now want to rescue OSEC victims in the future and give them a chance to turn into riches from rags just like me.
The job of our father has given to you is not easy, that is why I’m asking you to continue becoming a prayer partner with us in combating Online Sexual Exploited Children. Praying together will make us more powerful, declaring victory, because it is written in Matthew 18:19-20 “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gathers in my name, there am I with them”. We should continue praying without ceasing and keep on working for justice for the greater good not just in the Philippines but all around the globe. Continue to offer a helping hand to those people who are in need.Thank you for choosing to use your talents, time and treasures in loving and helping us. Thank you for carrying our burden and helping us to get back on track where the Lord wants us to be.
GOD BLESS US ALL!”
